[영화] What happens in Vegas... :: 라스베가스에서만 생길 수 있는 일

포스터의 이미지는 광년이에 가깝구나.


난 늘 말하듯 이런 영화를 못본다. 만약 혼자서 보게 된다면 내 방에서 이불뒤집어 쓰고 보겠지만 이번엔 포츄너리..하게도 그럴일은 없었다. 이런 영화라 함은 로맨틱 코메디류를 말하는 것이다. 차라리 이터널선샤인 이라던지 시월애라던지 무미건조쉬크한 종류라면 모를까, 밀고 당기고 아슬아슬하게 스치는 그런 장면은 거의 나에겐 고문에 가깝다. 그런면에서 나에게 반사이익으로 각광받는 영화가 피터지는 영화겠다.

하.지.만. 이 영화는 그렇게 나의 가슴을 졸이지도 않고 (내 기준으로) 무난하게 이야기가 진행이 된다. 내가 생각하는 가장 몸꼬이는 전개를 밟지않고 그저 평범한 수준의 드라마가 이어진다. 제목만 읽어도 끝을 알 수 있는 영화, 바로 그런 영화다. 하지만 대부분의 이런 종류의 영화는 당연히 끝을 알수있다는 점에서 그런 것은 중요하지 않다. 단지 그 끝을 향해 가는 과정이 지켜볼 만 하다는 것이다. 게다가 영화의 마지막은 이런 종류의 영화에서 가질 법한 환상을 현실로 살짝 끌여들여서 현실 불가능한 판타지는 완성시키지 않는다.(소재 자체가 잭팟 이라는 판타지이긴 하다만.....) Ashton Kutcher   와 Cameron Diaz  의 연기는 어색한 면이 없었고 괜찮았듯 싶다.

라스베가스 거리에 여권 좀 흘려봤다는 나여서 그런지 몰라도(orz...) 그 이후에 라스베가스가 나오는 영화를 보면 나도 모르게 풋, 거리게 된다. 생각보다 소박했던 그곳의 기억 때문이랄까, 하긴 그때는 머쉰! 의 재미를 몰랐으니 조금은 아쉽기도 하다만 훗.
